Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall management of the entire nursing department and staffing levels, including developing and implementing policies and procedures.
Key duties include ensuring resident safety and respect, recruiting and training nursing staff, coordinating pharmacy services, and acting as a liaison between the facility, physicians, and family members.
The DON will also manage department budgeting, stay current on regulation changes, participate in quality assurance activities, and provide direct resident care as needed.
