Job Summary
Plans and designs equipment to improve manufacturing processes in plant, maximizing equipment efficiencies by analyzing layout, workflow, and work force utilization.
Recommends and implements improvements to equipment, developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with production specifications and quality standards.
Provides engineering technical support to both maintenance and production, including training, and assists in developing systems and controls to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with quality standards.

Key Requirements
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
5 – 7 years steel related experience
Proficient computer skills in MS Office
Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency
Experience with PLCs, HMI and AutoCAD
Excellent organization and planning skills
Ability to think ahead and plan over a 6-12 month time span
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Highly motivated, self-driven individual
Strong desire to succeed
Eager to enhance knowledge and skills through on-going education and development
Must be creative, inquisitive, analytical, and detail oriented
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to apply engineering and technical/electrical knowledge

May walk up to two (2) miles per shift
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
May require unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which range in weight from 5 to 50 pounds with an average weight of 34-37 pounds
Utilizes a variety of hand positions such as turning and twisting
May often work late shifts and may be called at any hour to deal with emergencies
