Job Summary

  • Performs functions necessary for the support, treatment, measurement, or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient during routine and/or long term (ventricular assist and/or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) support under occasional guidance.
  • The perfusionist is independently responsible for a wide range of mechanical life support systems, providing extracorporeal support to patients during heart surgery and management of the heart lung machine.
