Job Summary

  • This role supports Landing Gear operations by ensuring the integrity and performance of special processes and materials used in manufacturing and overhaul.
  • The engineer will conduct laboratory testing on coatings such as Chemical Conversion Coating, Passivation, and Chrome Plating while troubleshooting process issues.
  • Candidates will serve as the site focal point for Nadcap audits and act as a certified trainer for Shot Peen operations.

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or related field
  • 5 years experience in chemical and surface engineering
  • Laboratory testing for corrosion resistance and adhesion
  • Experience with Nadcap special process audits
  • Knowledge of brush plating and cadmium plating

Nice-to-have

  • Proactive problem solving and self-directed style
  • Root cause analysis using RRCA or CORE methodologies
  • Background in landing gear MRO operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Metallurgical evaluation experience for aerospace hardware

Key Requirements
