The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Maintenance Construction Manager I to oversee maintenance and renovation projects for its Agricultural Sciences Center and other veterinary laboratories. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility maintenance and construction management, including supervisory experience and knowledge of building automation systems

Job Summary

  • Oversees a team of 4 staff responsible for all buildings, maintenance, repairs, and renovation projects for the state-of-the art ASC facility and three veterinary laboratories.
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, and repairs operating systems such as chillers, hot water boilers, steam boilers, HVAC, incinerators, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Serves as the key point of contact for building automation system critical alerts and responds to building emergencies, including after hours and on weekends/holidays.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities or Construction Management or related Engineering field + 4 years experience (3 supervisory)
  • Associate's degree in Construction Management, Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology + 6 years experience (3 supervisory)
  • Ability to arrive at ASC facility within 60 minutes
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
