Job Summary
This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse population of large animal species in a fast-paced hospital setting at Iowa State University's Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center.
The technician supports a wide range of medical and surgical procedures while playing an integral role in a dynamic teaching environment that includes veterinary students, interns, and residents.
Under the direction of a licensed veterinarian, this role provides intermediate care for ill and injured equine and farm animal patients including administering anesthesia and monitoring vital signs.

AVMA or CVMA accredited veterinary technology degree
Registered licensed or certified veterinary technician status
Experience with large animal species handling and restraint
Ability to administer anesthesia and monitor patient recovery
Knowledge of pharmacology dosage calculations and administration

Prior experience working in a veterinary teaching environment
Familiarity with ultrasound and X-ray imaging equipment
Ability to instruct veterinary students on clinical techniques
Experience with research sample collection and processing
Key Requirements
Associate or Bachelor's degree from AVMA/CVMA accredited program
Registration as veterinary technician within one year of start date
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
