Job Summary
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall management of the entire nursing department, including staffing levels, policy development, and ensuring resident safety and respect.
Key duties include recruiting, hiring, and training nursing staff, coordinating pharmacy services, and acting as a liaison between the facility, physicians, and family members.
The role requires participation in QA, Utilization Review, Patient Care conferences, state surveys, MDS coordination, and providing direct resident care as needed.
