Young Adult Institute Inc is seeking a Facilitator for their Family Support group offerings in Manhattan. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)

Job Summary

  • Leads and facilitates one (1) or more of YAI’s Family Support group offerings based on interests, availability and qualifications by leading and moderating group discussions with children, adults and/or parents based on specific program curriculum.
  • Conducts person-centered goal setting and regularly monitors and evaluates participant progress through observations.
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation of services, attendance and billing in compliance with guidelines and regulations and in appropriate format and electronic systems for all documentation related to the program.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, training and/or certificate in program related field or as required by program contract
  • Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
  • Yoga Certification is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management and written communication skills
  • Ability to complete room set up
  • Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • One (1) year experience working with people with I/DD preferred
