Job Summary

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria and perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality, prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls, and report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science
  • Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
  • 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • ASCP or AMT certification
  • Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits
  • Proficient with computers
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
