Job Summary

  • The SCADA Instrumentation & Controls Technician position assists and leads installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the instrumentation and control, electronic, security, motor control, and telemetry systems used to operate and monitor the Aurora Water System.
  • Aurora Water is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems, treatment of drinking water and non-potable reclaimed wastewater for irrigation, billing and collection, public outreach and water conservation, acquisition and development of future water rights, major capital projects programs, and quality control for regulatory compliance and public health.

Must-have

  • Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair electronic/electro-mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshoot computerized process control equipment
  • Troubleshoot control system and electrical power system failures
  • Troubleshoot VFDs and soft starts
  • Troubleshoot security access control
  • Read P&ID and electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints

Nice-to-have

  • Demonstrates respectful working relationship
  • Awareness of new technology
  • Assist with programming of new installations and upgrades

Key Requirements

  • Three (3) years minimum of professional experience in an instrumentation technician role
  • Experience including calibration, repair and troubleshooting of electronic process control equipment
  • Experience with motor control centers
  • Knowledge of PLC programming
  • Experience with VFD’s, soft starts troubleshooting and commissioning
  • Working Scada systems experience
  • Associate’s degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • Colorado Driver's License with a good driving history
  • ISA CCST Level I - III Certification preferred
