Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age 21 and U.S. citizenship
  • Utah POST Category 1 certification or enrollment
  • Valid Utah Driver License with clean record
  • No convictions for serious offenses
  • Successful completion of background check, physical exam, and fitness test
  • Proficiency in firearms, Taser, radio, first aid
  • Certification in CPR and Intoxilyzer
  • Completion of Basic Accident Investigation and SFST
  • Proficiency with UCJIS and Spillman systems
