Job Summary

  • The Certified Procedural Coding Specialist – Surgical Specialist will assess the adequacy of health record documentation to ensure that it supports all diagnoses and procedures to which codes are assigned.
  • This position will work remotely and requires knowledge of anatomy and physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and diagnostic and procedural terminology to assign accurate codes to diagnoses and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • HS/GED with CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT or RHIA certification
  • Two (2) years coding experience
  • Associates Degree in Health Information Management or related field plus two years of coding experience OR High School Diploma plus four (4) years of coding experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
  • RHIA or RHIT certification
