Job Summary
The North Carolina Forest Service is designated as an emergency response Division providing forest protection, resource management and environmental education to residents and landowners across all 100 counties.
This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of heavy equipment used in wildland fire suppression, pre-suppression, prescribed burning, and forestation, including minor equipment repairs.
Work hours are typically 8-5 M-F, but extended readiness will involve evening, holiday, and/or weekend work, with overnight travel required during fire danger periods and emergencies.
