Job Summary

  • The North Carolina Forest Service is designated as an emergency response Division providing forest protection, resource management and environmental education to residents and landowners across all 100 counties.
  • This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of heavy equipment used in wildland fire suppression, pre-suppression, prescribed burning, and forestation, including minor equipment repairs.
  • Work hours are typically 8-5 M-F, but extended readiness will involve evening, holiday, and/or weekend work, with overnight travel required during fire danger periods and emergencies.
