** The North Carolina Department of State Treasurer is seeking a Supplemental Retirement Plans Accountant to oversee the preparation and compliance of financial statements and reports for the state’s pension and healthcare plans. Job Summary

  • Our mission is to preserve, protect and sustain the state’s pension and healthcare plans, generate investment returns in excess of comparable public pensions, properly account for and report on all funds that are deposited, invested, and disbursed through the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer, assure the financially sound issuance of debt for state and local governments, maintain the state’s “AAA” bond rating, and provide exemplary service across all divisions of the Department.
  • This position leads the preparation of the annual financial statements including all note disclosures for the SRPs for audit by an external auditor.
  • This position has extensive interaction with the Retirement Division staff (RSD), the external auditor, the custodian and record keeper for the Supplemental Plans, and the Office of the State Controller (OSC).
