Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum age 21 and U.S. citizenship
  • Utah POST Category 1 certification or academy enrollment
  • Valid Utah Driver License with clean record
  • No serious criminal, traffic, drug, or domestic violence convictions
  • Successful background check, physical exam, and fitness test
  • CPR and Intoxilyzer certification required
  • Basic Accident Investigation and SFST completion required
