ERM is seeking an Environmental Monitor for a field-based role in Central Minnesota to oversee environmental compliance during the construction phase of a transmission and distribution project. The position requires strong inspection skills and offers the possibility of extension after a 24-month term

Job Summary

  • Conduct field inspections, environmental inspections of construction activities, and field survey work as directed, reviewing environmental permit conditions and providing feedback to ensure compliance.
  • Interact with agency officials, regulatory agency staff, landowners, contractors, clients, and other project members, while also providing technical leadership and support to field staff.
  • Critically assess environmental conditions, evaluate potential impacts, and oversee the implementation of mitigation measures, preparing daily reports and identifying corrective actions.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years environmental inspection/monitoring experience
  • Linear and/or energy infrastructure project experience
  • Electric Transmission or linear project experience required
  • Understanding of construction gained through field experience
  • Proficient technical skills (Microsoft Office, digital cameras)
  • Working knowledge of GPS and mapping applications
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle
