Penn State University is seeking a part-time Research Assistant for the Machtinger Lab within the Veterinary Entomology Laboratory. The role involves supporting research projects focused on ticks and wildlife, requiring fieldwork and laboratory tasks.

Job Summary
Primary duties include assisting with research projects related to ticks and wildlife including rodent (mouse and squirrel) trapping and tick dragging, as well as environmental assessments, equine tick control studies, deer and tick control studies, and laboratory studies involving mice and voles.
This position will require early mornings and long days during trapping rounds and may involve work in less than ideal conditions through thick vegetation, sun, rain, and uneven terrain.
This is a great opportunity to get both field and laboratory experience related to veterinary parasitology/entomology.
