Job Summary

  • The Lab Coordinator - Animal Sciences is responsible for daily laboratory services and operations including ensuring equipment and instrumentation is are maintained; creating/updating/revising procedural manuals and ensuring compliance; training and supervising staff; contributing to diagnostic services and research-specific laboratory testing; assisting with developing and reconciling budgets.
  • Prepare specimens for offsite testing including specimen submission, result compilation, and billing reconciliation and coordinate laboratory diagnostics phase of sentinel animal program.
  • Hire, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate employees; prepare schedules; communicate and enforce standards; promote professional development; adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreement; participate in grievance and arbitration hearings.
