Job Summary
The Lab Coordinator - Animal Sciences is responsible for daily laboratory services and operations including ensuring equipment and instrumentation is are maintained; creating/updating/revising procedural manuals and ensuring compliance; training and supervising staff; contributing to diagnostic services and research-specific laboratory testing; assisting with developing and reconciling budgets.
Prepare specimens for offsite testing including specimen submission, result compilation, and billing reconciliation and coordinate laboratory diagnostics phase of sentinel animal program.
Hire, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate employees; prepare schedules; communicate and enforce standards; promote professional development; adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreement; participate in grievance and arbitration hearings.
