Job Summary

  • Generate and apply steelmaking knowledge and related fields to topics related to electric arc furnaces (EAF), ladle metallurgy, vacuum tank degassing, tundish practices, and casting to impact processes and product development.
  • You will be responsible for planning, managing, communicating, and reporting on laboratory experimentation, characterization of samples, process data analysis, modelling of the metallurgy and processes, and communicating or guiding such activities.

Key Requirements

  • PhD. in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering with at least 4 years of industrial experience
  • M.Sc. in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering with at least 8 years of industrial research experience
  • B.ASc . in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering with at least 11 years of industrial research experience
  • Strong knowledge of ferrous (steel) process metallurgy
  • Experience with thermodynamic modelling (e.g., FactSage, Thermo-Calc)
  • Experience with statistical design of experiments and data analysis tools
  • Ability to freely travel between the US and Canada
