Job Summary
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Bengali-speaking Cultural Mediator to support protection activities for newly arrived refugees in Southern Italy.
The role involves providing cultural mediation, interpretation, and information on rights and asylum procedures while identifying vulnerabilities among survivors of trafficking and GBV.
This position requires regular travel to disembarkation points and reception facilities across Sicily and Calabria to coordinate with IRC colleagues and UNHCR partners.

Must-have
Fluency in Bengali spoken and written
Good command of Italian language
Experience with cultural mediation and interpretation
Knowledge of Italian asylum system
Trauma-informed approach to survivors
Nice-to-have
Previous experience working with trafficking survivors
Knowledge of Urdu language
Valid driver's license preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Strong interpersonal communication skills
