Multnomah County Library is seeking a Black Cultural Competency Library Assistant to enhance community engagement and provide excellent customer service, particularly to Black patrons. The role involves assisting with information requests, fostering relationships, and delivering library programs, requiring a strong understanding of the Black community and cultural competency

Job Summary

  • Invest in specialized, culturally relevant expertise and support to build active, trusting relationships with learners of all ages.
  • Assist all patrons, but especially our Black patrons, find information and resources they seek, responding to requests via multiple channels.
  • Collaborate with systemwide teams to plan, deliver & evaluate programming for a variety of communities and cultural groups.
