You will be responsible for expression construct design and purification from bacterial, insect, and mammalian cells, protein quality control, as well as the generation and screening of mutant libraries to generate tools to advance the Pfizer Portfolio of difficult targets including integral membrane proteins and their reconstitution in non-detergent formulations through both functional and binding based HitID screens

Job Summary

  • You will be responsible for expression construct design and purification from bacterial, insect, and mammalian cells, protein quality control, as well as the generation and screening of mutant libraries to generate tools to advance the Pfizer Portfolio of difficult targets including integral membrane proteins and their reconstitution in non-detergent formulations through both functional and binding based HitID screens.
  • Represent Protein Sciences at the project team level, helping to guide new targets from gene through screening and beyond.
  • The annual base salary for this position ranges from $93,600.00 to $156,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, or related discipline with 1-2 years experience
  • M.S. with 7+ years relevant experience including industry experience
  • Experience in expression construct design
  • Demonstrated ability to purify challenging proteins
  • Experience in integral membrane protein reconstitution
  • Experience using Akta purification systems
