Juul Labs is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and qualification of automation systems for product launches, ensuring adherence to stringent performance metrics and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in equipment design, automation, and a solid understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes

Job Summary

  • Lead design reviews for manufacturing equipment and custom tooling to ensure readiness for new product launches.
  • Drive Automation strategy, ensuring hardware can meet strict performance metrics & regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for equipment qualification, managing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

Must-have

  • DFM for R&D prototype fixture design
  • Automation strategy for performance metrics
  • Equipment qualification (FAT/SAT)
  • Troubleshoot complex system failures
  • Machine design/qualification expertise
  • SolidWorks proficiency

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in Heat-Not-Burn consumables
  • Familiarity with high-speed tobacco machinery
  • Experience with regulated quality frameworks
  • Understanding of serialization and Track and Trace systems
  • Experience managing technical transfers internationally

Key Requirements

  • 5-8 years of industry experience in integration, design of equipment and automation
  • Deep expertise with system design and integration and high-volume manufacturing
  • Technical expertise in designing automation for handling high precision processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills in mechanics, materials and thermal stress
  • Experience in both development and manufacturing environments
  • Engineering knowledge of mechanical engineering sciences
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial systems engineering
  • GD&T principles
