Job Summary

  • The Cytogenetics Laboratory provides Fluorescent in situ Hybridization (FISH) and Chromosome analysis on inpatient and outpatient specimens received from the OSUWMC and other local and state hospitals and physicians.
  • The Cytogenetic Technologist examines blood, bone marrow and solid tumor specimens from cancer patients for chromosomal changes using high resolution microscopes and a digital imaging system.
  • The CAP, TJC and CLIA certified Cytogenetic laboratory is recognized as one of the top academic centers performing highly complex testing utilizing advanced technology.
