Lifeguards at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and RPAC Recreation Natatorium are a select group of highly trained rescuers responsible for supervising safety in and around the facility.
The position requires enforcing preventative measures, recognizing emergencies, and performing required rescues while maintaining facility security and equipment readiness.
Staff have the opportunity to develop life and professional skills such as time management, adaptability, and learning to work under pressure while overseeing activities from recreational swimming to national level events.

Skills & Requirements
Must-have
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification
CPR/AED-PR and First Aid certification
Pass required skill and water fitness evaluations
Strong swimming skills for rescue readiness
Ability to work varying shifts including nights and weekends

Key Requirements
Must be enrolled at a college or university other than Ohio State
Possess current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED-PR, and First Aid certification
Complete new hire evaluation and pass water fitness audits
Regular attendance at meetings, in-service trainings, and skills checks
Successful completion of background check and potential drug screen
