The NC Department of Transportation is seeking a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician II to perform skilled repairs and maintenance on automotive and heavy equipment. Job Summary

  • The position involves performing a wide range of progressively responsible tasks involving the service, inspection, repair, and diagnosis of diverse mechanical systems for gasoline, diesel, and alternative powered engines.
  • Employees must be able to safely operate equipment for testing purposes and work in both indoor and outdoor environments including during adverse weather such as snow, ice, tornadoes, and hurricanes.
  • Selected candidates are required to furnish a complete set of tools and must possess or obtain a valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License within 360 days of hire.
