The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Police Trainee is responsible for completing the CMPD Academy and passing the Basic Law Enforcement Training to become certified sworn law enforcement providing protection, policing, patrolling and investigation.
Applicants applying for Intermediate Police Trainee must have completed a North Carolina (NC) Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Program within the past 12 months OR currently possess an active NC Law Enforcement Certification.
Selected Intermediate applicants must successfully complete a 10 week Academy, followed by a 15 week PTO training course.
