Job Summary

  • Performs all duties of DSP 1, ensuring the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals, assisting them in maximizing their strengths and abilities while upholding their personal rights and facilitating community connections.
  • Takes the lead during crisis situations, effectively deescalating issues and directing DSP 1s while adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ensures implementation of person-centered, individualized plans, including protective oversight and Behavior Support Plans, modeling and training DSP 1s on plan intentions and interventions.

Key Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a DSP 1
  • Foundational certifications (SCIP-R, CPR, AMAP or Day Services Model Mentorship Training)
  • Maintain foundational certifications
  • Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training
  • At least 18 years old
  • At least three years of direct support professional experience with I/DD population
  • Obtain and maintain required YAI certifications within six months
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic systems
  • Hold and maintain additional certifications as required
  • Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours
  • Valid Driver's License and Van certification (if required)
