Job Summary

  • The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) works in collaboration with the surgeon and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Intraoperatively practices at the direction of the surgeon and does not concurrently function as a scrub person, functioning in an expanded perioperative RN role.
  • Responsibilities include preoperative patient assessment, intraoperative surgical assistance, and postoperative patient management.
