Job Summary
The Assistant Radiation Safety Officer is responsible for managing multiple Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and services to address significant risks and compliance at the university.
The ARSO will have programmatic responsibilities for human uses of radiation and will serve as a subject matter expert in these areas, including the Yale Biomedical Imaging Institute and research/clinical uses of x-ray and MRI.
This position will develop and recommend improvements to processes in all areas of responsibility and ensures that campus policies and state and federal regulations are followed to achieve a safe environment.

Key Requirements
MS or PhD in Health Physics or relevant field and CHP
Five(5) + years medical health physics experience
Bachelor's degree in related field and six years safety experience
24-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
NRC 10 CFR Part 37 background check
Qualify as Associate RSO on NRC Medical Use license
