Job Summary

  • Responsible for the prevention, identification, investigation, reporting, and control of health care associated infections (HAI) and day-to-day infection prevention activities.
  • Performs rounding to ensure compliance and surveillance for hospital acquired infections using CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network definitions and communicates HAI cases with unit/service leadership.
  • Reviews hospital practice to ensure compliance with criteria for accreditation and other regulatory/quality requirements pertaining to Infection Prevention, communicating lapses and assisting with compliance plans.
