Job Summary

  • We have an exciting opportunity for a water/wastewater designer who would be responsible for using 2D and/or 3D computer aided design applications to develop and record designs as drawings.
  • The Designer will assist in the design of infrastructure for water and wastewater treatment, pump stations, pipelines, chemical storage and dosing and minor structural and civil elements.
  • This position gives you the opportunity to continue KBR Brisbane’s success in delivering some of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • 2D and/or 3D computer aided design applications
  • translate design intent into models and/or drawings
  • design of infrastructure for water and wastewater treatment
  • Experience with Autocad a must
  • prepare and self-check detailed design drawings and models

Nice-to-have

  • presenting models and drawings to peers and engineers
  • provide technical assistance and guidance

Key Requirements

  • Associate Degree, Diploma, Associate Diploma of Design or Engineering or similar para-professional level qualification, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years experience in the infrastructure field as a designer
  • Experience with Plant 3D and Revit an advantage
  • Competence and experience in the practice of the drafting and design in the general mechanical engineering sector
  • Competence in the set out and preparation of concepts/preliminary design/design 3D models using GIS and survey data, existing drawings and models and general design intent
  • Ability to prepare and self-check detailed design drawings and models, and simple conventional calculations using Standards and Codes, templates and internal procedures
  • Competence in preparing and reviewing models and drawings and presenting to peers and engineers for discussion
  • Understanding of and willingness to comply with engineering procedures and practices for design development
  • Ability to liaise with peers, subordinates and clients
  • Willingness to provide technical assistance and guidance to designers and less experienced engineers
