Job Summary

  • The Director of Staff Development (DSD) is responsible to plan and implement facility orientation, job skills training, in-service education, and a Certification Training Program (if applicable) for the nursing assistants as required by regulations.
  • The DSD also provides direct resident/patient care and works with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Administrator to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
  • Utilize information from Licensing and Certification Surveys, Employee Evaluations, Facility Rounds, and recommendations from the Administrator and department heads to identify education needs and organize in-service education programs for staff.
