Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a registered nurse who oversees and supervises the care of all the residents, providing direct resident/patient care.
Responsibilities include overall management of the nursing department, staffing levels, policy development, resident safety, staff training, and department budgeting.
The DON coordinates pharmacy services, acts as a liaison between the facility, physicians, and family members, and participates in QA and state surveys.
