Job Summary

  • The Regional Infectious Disease Surveillance Advisor will oversee and provide technical leadership for day-to-day implementation of surveillance activities in AMEE, with potential for additional countries.
  • This individual will serve as the regional lead for technical implementation of infectious disease surveillance activities, ensuring alignment with Joint External Evaluation results, International Health Regulations (IHR), and other global standards.
  • Responsibilities include providing expert input to national guidelines and normative policies, advising governments and partners on best practices in surveillance, and ensuring timely production and dissemination of high-quality data and information.

Key Requirements

  • Master’s degree or its International Equivalent in epidemiology, public health, veterinary medicine or related field
  • At least 5 years of international experience in surveillance systems
  • At least 3 years of experience managing or providing technical leadership on large USG-funded projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in zoonotic diseases, surveillance systems, and outbreak investigation and control across AMEE
  • Experience leading national and regional infectious disease surveillance projects
  • English and proficiency required
